New Facebook Privacy Setting

This week the new Facebook Privacy setting called “Instant Personalization” goes into effect. The new setting shares your data with non-Facebook websites and is automatically set to “Enabled”.

Here are the steps to disable it:

1) Go to Account -> Privacy Settings
2) At the bottom of that page will be the Apps & Websites part, click on "Edit Settings"
3) Find Instant Personalization and click on "Edit Settings" (It will try to show you a video but you can close that out)
4) Uncheck Enable and wait for it to refresh (it may ask you to confirm you want to do that, so confirm as well)

While you’re at it, check your other Sharing and Privacy Settings, for instance also on the Apps & Websites page is “Info accessible through your friends”.
